SORT STEP 1: Throw away any clothes that are soiled or torn beyond repair. Donate, recycle, or throw away things you’re not. Remove that sagging middle shelf and neighbor below it for now because you’re about to mount new drywall anchors into these two spots you just marked. If you’re moving with a small child, you’ll need to add diapers and extra clothes as well as favorite toys and baby food.
Dry cleaning a coat can be expensive, but it’s often worth the cost of around $25 to preserve an item you’ll wear for several years. Decide what each piece currently means to you, not what it meant to you years ago. Be ruthless. Beware of the piece of clothing that cost a ton of money when it was new. It’s a good thing you can reduce the damage, so you don’t have to deal with ironing out every piece of clothing you packed.
But my husband just have this habit of making a big mess. Are your sheets and towels a jumbled mess? Next, place all of your like items together, whether you are hanging them or folding them. 3. Sort the Undecided pile piece-by-piece and separate the items based on Love It, Like It or Hate It. Like It: You wear it fairly often. Love It: You wear it faithfully and like how it looks on you. Hate It: You never wear it because it doesn't fit or you bought it because it was a bargain. I love donating and selling clothes I don’t wear anymore because it gives me the opportunity to bless others with nice clothing.
Also, ask what happens to your clothes if they don't sell; most consignment stores will donate anything that doesn't sell within a certain period of time to a shelter or nonprofit organization. Once you get your shelves decluttered and cleaned, you will be amazed at the way it brightens up your area. Anything that you would rather have neatly tucked away can be organized discreetly within fashionable bins and baskets that are placed upon your shelves.
Are there any holes, discoloration, tears, missing buttons, etc.? DPD, UPS, and other delivery services are already delivering my first purchases (I bought most of the things from my summer capsule closet checklist and winter capsule wardrobe checklist already), and there is quite a high tower of boxes in front of my closet room. Again, these are all pretty similar, and I tend to categorize them all as a high rise straight leg with a varying degree of looseness.
Just because you are of a certain age does not mean you can’t be stylish. They are similar, but they are not the same. Fold the left side in the same manner as the first side. 11. Maximize your vertical storage space. After you purge your closet and before you hang everything back in your closet, evaluate the interior and determine your storage options. Note that you need to fold the sides far enough in so that the body of the hoodie is not wider than the hood. If I fold it in thirds, it is too thick for the size of the final fold and doesnt remain folded neatly. Fold the left side and sleeve into the middle as you did with the right side. Fold the right side into the middle and fold the sleeve back and down onto the folded in side. You’d think within the sleeve length and material categories, I’d then organize by color, but nope.
